The company, Novacem has won an award for their Carbon Negative Cement as the winner of its second annual MEDIUM Award for Material of the Year. They have made a revolutionary solution to reducing carbon emissions in the construction industry that will not have a negative carbon footprint. It replaces the calcium carbonates used in cement formulation with magnesium silicates, and by using a low-temperature production process that runs on biomass fuels.
